Digital Portal

Our brand new Growing Up in New Zealand digital portal is here, making it easier to find surveys and access vouchers, and helping you shape the future of our home, Aotearoa.
Our journey
Since before you were born, you’ve been part of the Growing Up in New Zealand family. The data you share does incredible things for the future of Aotearoa, and we’ve created a way to make it simpler to continue your journey with us.
What’s HOME?
HOME is a new digital portal for taking part in the Growing Up in New Zealand study. It’s a place for both young people and caregivers, where you can find everything you need to take part in the study.
Log in and catch up on the latest news from the study. We’ll be in touch when there are new surveys to complete or activities to participate in.

How to get involved
It's super easy to join HOME. Just follow these simple steps.
Step one: Click the portal link on our website, or enter the URL: home.growingup.co.nz
Step two: Click the 'sign up' button and enter your details.
Step three: We'll send you an email to verify it's really you.

Sharing your details
Having trouble creating your account? If you’re a young person, you need to have shared your details with us before you can register. If you’re a parent or caregiver, please let us know if any of your details have changed.
To securely share your contact information, you can do so here, or find more troubleshooting answers below.

If there are any issues or questions not covered in these questions, or you have not been able to resolve your issue, please reach out to our team.
We are here to help and want to make sure it’s as easy as possible to use the HOME portal.
About HOME
Who can use HOME?
Only participants enrolled in the Growing Up in New Zealand study - both young people and primary caregivers. When you register, your details are checked against our secure participant database to make sure the right account is created for you. Young people will need to share their own contact details with the study in order to enrol with HOME. You can do that here.
Why can’t I access HOME yet?
Right now, HOME is being pilot tested with Leading Light participants. If you’re not part of this group, you won’t be able to log in just yet. Don’t worry — HOME will be rolled out to all participants soon, and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s your turn to register.
Registration & logging in
How do I register for HOME?
You’ll need to create an account using your full name, email and date of birth that we already hold in our system. If these match, your account will be created and you can log in.
If you’re a young person, you’ll need to have shared your contact details with us before you can register for HOME. You can do this via a link to a secure form that your guardian will have received via email or here (please note it may take up to 48 hours for your details to be registered in our system).
I can’t register — I get an error. What should I do?
Double-check that the details you entered (first and last name, email and date of birth) are the same ones you provided to Growing Up in New Zealand. If you still can’t register, please contact our support team for help.
I’ve registered but can’t log in. What should i do?
Check that you’ve entered your email and password correctly. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking 'forgot password' on the login page.
I didn’t receive my password reset email. What now?
Please check your junk or spam folder. If you still can’t find the email, contact us so we can help.
How do I change my password?
You can change your password by clicking 'forgot password' on the login screen, or if you’re already logged into your account, through your profile section.
I would prefer not to join HOME.
That’s ok! We’ll continue to connect with you as usual.
Surveys
Why don’t I see any surveys in HOME?
Surveys will appear once we officially notify you that data collection has started. During data collection, only active surveys linked to your records will show. Completed surveys will disappear from HOME. If you think one is missing, please co ntact us.
The next surveys are planned for February 2026 for Leading Light participants and May 2026 for the main cohort.
How will I know when a survey is available?
We’ll let you know by email or text when a new survey is ready. You’ll also see it on your HOME dashboard.
I completed a survey but it still shows as incomplete. Why?
This may be due to a delay in syncing survey status. Try refreshing your HOME page. If it’s still not updating, please let us know.
Vouchers
When will I get my Prezzy voucher?
After you complete an eligible survey, you’ll see an option to claim your voucher in HOME. Once you claim it, the voucher is sent to your registered email address.
I completed my survey but don’t see a voucher to claim. What should I do?
Please wait a few minutes and refresh your dashboard. If it’s still missing, contact us so we can check the system.
I claimed a voucher but didn’t get the email. What should I do?
Check your junk or spam folder first. If it’s not there, reach out to us and we’ll investigate.
Can I get two vouchers for the same survey?
No — each eligible survey only provides one voucher. If you accidentally receive more than one email, please let us know.
Privacy & security
Is my personal information safe on HOME?
Yes. HOME has been built with strong privacy and security protections. Your details are stored securely in our University of Auckland systems, and all data is encrypted during transfer to existing and secure Growing Up in New Zealand systems.
